Why book a honeymoon photoshoot?

After months of preparation and anticipation, the excitement and joy of the wedding day, it’s now all over (boo!), but it’s finally just the two of you, blissfully happy and relaxed in a beautiful location watching sunsets and sipping cocktails (yay!).

It’s probably safe to assume that this bliss means that you’re on your honeymoon together. Honeymoon vacations are still extremely popular and a lot of consideration and cost goes into deciding the perfect destination. Whether it’s a beautiful beach, trendy city or stunning safari, it’s usually a once in a lifetime trip and always a chance for you and your new spouse to spend quality time together. So, why not book a honeymoon photoshoot?

Now, as your photographer I’m not proposing following you around Paris, the Maldives or Kenya for two weeks taking photos of every croissant you eat, champagne toast you make or game drive you do, but if you’ve willing to pay for me to do it, I’ll let you know when the next return flight is!

However, I do think you should book a honeymoon photoshoot and here’s three reasons why:

Professional photos

You know that professional photos are worth it, after all you’ve already paid to have them at your wedding. You’ll also save yourself the frustration of having some random stranger take blurry photos of you with your heads cut off and then smiling awkwardly as you thank them and then promptly have to ask another random stranger which totally ruins the moment. And yes, you can take a selfie or balance your phone on a rock but who really enjoys that hassle. As your photographer I would do all the hard work for you, no chopped off heads here, and all you’d need to do is look happy and in love.

The location will be gorgeous

You will get a beautiful set of display worthy photos in a location that will always hold significance to both of you and one that you’ve most likely spent time, effort and money choosing, so why not document it.

Photos you can use on your walls

And speaking of display worthy photos, having a honeymoon photoshoot gives you a bunch more options to display in the home you are creating together. Or on your desk at work.

Which leads me to a Bonus Tip

Photography tells a story, that’s why it draws us in and tugs on our heartstrings. So, why not tell the whole story, from engagement to wedding to honeymoon (and hopefully maternity and then family in the future), all displayed beautifully on the walls and shelves of your home.

So, if you’ve never thought about a honeymoon photoshoot maybe now is the time!

PS: If your wedding was a few years ago and you never had a honeymoon photoshoot, don’t worry, I can still take lovely photos of you and your spouse, we just call them anniversary shoots instead ;)
